About Me

Twenty-five years ago, I started writing about health and beauty for Canada’s top newspapers and magazines. I got to test anti-wrinkle and cellulite treatments long before I had wrinkles or cellulite. I got to profile celebs back when it was still cool to describe what they were wearing and it was de riguer to use the term de rigeur. I even got to pretend I wasn’t a recovering agoraphobe and take on a few travel stories, blearily taking notes whilst on a custom Gravol/Ativan combo I coined Grativan. I tried (and failed) to not use the term “must-haves.”

Now I mostly write about the seething stress of perimenopause, and how a wee bit of cannabis can help you not think about dog diarrhea for a little while. I write about the different ways we become families, and what happens when our families fall apart, and how goddamn hard all of it is. I write about the seemingly impossible task of step-parenting, and about peeing your pants when you exercise. I write about feelings and bodies and people and places. I love what I do.
